Bidding

Good to know: All bids are in $FTM and must be 10 $FTM higher than the bid before it.

The basics

Our community gathers in the Tombheads Discord and artists present their art one by one from the stage. Bidders post what they are willing to pay in the chat using $FTM.

Process for bidders

  • Around 6:30PM UTC on the night, the stage will open for a half hour warmup with some music. Any time from this point, you can click on the AUCTION HOUSE stage and join it & listen in

  • At this time, you should also make sure you're in the bidding channel, especially if you intend to bid.

  • The starting prices for bids will be different for each artists, however we generally allow our bidders to determine the opening bid (except in special cases where a set reserve price is given) - for stats references, the price of FTM in USD will be fixed 30 minutes before the auction begins - this has no effect on your payments. Price locked at $(TBC)

  • PLEASE MAKE SURE TO PREPARE YOUR FTM ON THE FANTOM OPERA MAINNET BEFORE THE AUCTION BEGINS

  • PLEASE MAKE SURE TO BE READY TO SEND YOUR PAYMENT IF YOU ARE BIDDING ON A PIECE!

  • Once bidding begins, you can simply type in the #auction-house channel the value (in FTM) which you wish to bid. At this time, we have a minimum +10 raise rule, so any bid that is less than 10 FTM higher than the current highest bid will not be counted.

  • After a short time without any new bids, we will begin to call the piece. After the 3rd call, the piece is sold to the highest bidder.

  • If you were the highest bidder and won the piece, you will then need to send the required payment to the address which will be pinned at the top of the channel. Let us know in chat once you've sent your payment!

  • If after 10 minutes we have not received your payment & we cannot reach you, the piece will be re-auctioned and you might be exclude of the Auction in the future.

  • The pieces will be sent after the auction. Artists will first receive a confirmation of who bought their piece via DM from one of the hosts. The artist will then contact the buyer to get necessary information (wallet address, + physical shipping details if a physical piece is included as well) - all of this should happen within about 24 hours of the auction, but please be patient.
